He served as Dean of the School of Finance and Statistics at the University of Piraeus (2016\u20132018), Head of the Department of Banking and Financial Management (2008\u20132012), and Deputy Head of the same department (2007\u20132009). At the same university, he was a member of the Board of Trustees and Chair of the Budget Committee (2012\u20132014). Previously, he was Chair of the Department of International Economics at the University of Macedonia (2003\u20132005) and Member of the Board and Chair of the Budget Committee of the Hellenic Stock Exchange Group (Athens Stock Exchange, 2003\u20132006). Outside academia, he served as a Board Member of the Independent Corporation of Energy Distribution (2012\u20132014) and Eurobank Factoring (2013\u20132016).<\/span><\/p>\r\n<p class=\"xmsonormal\"><span lang=\"EN-GB\">Nikolaos Apergis has received several prestigious research grants and awards, including:<\/span><span lang=\"EN-GB\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n<ul type=\"disc\">\r\n \t<li class=\"xmsonormal\"><span lang=\"EN-GB\">Research Scholarship \u2013 Latsis Foundation (<i>Spillovers in Means and Volatility between Food Prices and Biofuel Energy Prices<\/i>)<\/span><\/li>\r\n \t<li class=\"xmsonormal\"><span lang=\"EN-GB\">Research Scholarship \u2013 London School of Economics (<i>Inflation and Prices in Greece: Causes and Characteristics<\/i>)<\/span><\/li>\r\n \t<li class=\"xmsonormal\"><span lang=\"EN-GB\">Short-Term Research Award \u2013 Curtin Business School<\/span><\/li>\r\n \t<li class=\"xmsonormal\"><span lang=\"EN-GB\">Hanzekovic Foundation Best Paper Award for the best scientific article<\/span><\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n&nbsp;\r\n<p class=\"xmsonormal\"><span lang=\"EN-GB\">Nikolaos also serves as Associate Editor of <i>Energy Economics<\/i> and <i>The Open Economics Journal<\/i> and is a member of the editorial boards of numerous journals, including <i>International Advances of Economic Research, Environmental Science and Pollution Research, Economics and Business Letters, International Journal of Economic Sciences and Applied Research, International Journal of Finance and Banking Studies, International Journal of Sustainable Economies Management, China-ASEAN Integration and Trade Journal,<\/i> and <i>International Journal of Energy Economics and Policy<\/i>.
