Nikola Magdalena Taylor

works as an Assistant Professor at the Department of Economics, Faculty of Economics, Prague University of Economics and Business. She has been actively engaged in academic work since 2009, when she began her doctoral studies in the field of Regional Studies and Public Administration. Her specialization includes the socio-economic development of territorial units at all levels, regional competitiveness, development of small municipalities in the suburban zone of Prague as well as in peripheral areas, and other related topics.

In addition to her activities in theoretical research, she is also involved in practical applications and is a member of the Regional Studies Association.

She has contributed to the development of OECD territorial studies and has also cooperated with the European Commission in the area of Cohesion Policy in both the Czech Republic and the EU. She served as an advisor to the Chair of the Committee on Legal Affairs of the European Parliament and is a sought-after consultant on macroeconomic and regional issues by national, regional, and municipal authorities. She has worked as an external advisor to the KDU-ČSL party, the National Budget Council, the Prague 17 City District, and the municipalities of Velké Popovice, Bedřichov, Neveklov, among many others.

During her undergraduate studies, she worked at the Ministry of Regional Development of the Czech Republic, where she participated in the preparation of the implementation of EU Structural Funds and the drafting of strategic programme documents at the national level in cooperation with the European Commission. She was an elected member of the municipal council in Kamenice, where she also chaired the Audit Committee. She currently serves as Acting Director of the Centre for Regional and Administrative Studies at the Faculty of Economics, where she focuses primarily on municipal development and municipal finance. She has extensive experience in the preparation and implementation of development strategies for territorial units and public institutions.
