Michaela Ševčíková

works as an Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Economics, Prague University of Economics and Business, where she has been engaged in academic activities in the field of economic policy for over a decade, with a focus on the European Union. Her areas of specialization include European integration and EU policies. As part of her research activities, she completed a research stay at the Graduate School of Social and Political Science at the University of Edinburgh in the United Kingdom. Since 2023, she has been a member of the International Association for Energy Economics.

Outside her academic career, she also has experience in public administration, where she headed the Department of Multilateral Relations and International Marketing at the Prague City Hall’s Department of Culture, Foreign Relations and Tourism. She was a co-founder and long-time director of the non-profit organization Educational Institute, within which she implemented the project “Advisory and Information Centre for Small and Medium-sized Enterprises.”

She was actively involved in the activities of the Expert and Selection Group of the Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs within the Human Resources and Employment Operational Programme. Michaela Ševčíková has extensive experience in project management and EU structural funds. She has prepared or contributed to dozens of projects focused on education, entrepreneurship, infrastructure, the environment, and tourism.

In addition to academic studies and articles, her publications have appeared in Hospodářské noviny, Mezinárodní politika, Euro, and Lidové noviny. Over the past thirteen years, she has regularly appeared in current affairs and news programmes on Czech Television (ČT24).
