Jiří Rotschedl Spoke at the Conference of the Czech Demographic Society

In May 2025, the 54th Conference of the Czech Demographic Society took place in České Budějovice, where Jiří Rotschedl delivered a presentation. His talk, entitled “Motivations of Women for Motherhood in the 21st Century – The Influence of Modern Society”, was given during the opening panel and offered a neuroeconomic perspective on the current young generation in relation to fertility. He also presented findings from a research study conducted in November 2024, which focused on motivations for motherhood. Rotschedl placed the topic of declining birth rates within a broader macroeconomic context and highlighted the potential economic consequences of this trend over the next two decades, when today’s newborns begin entering the labor market.
